Every actor does this work somewhere — backstory in a notebook, images saved to a camera roll, objectives scribbled in a script margin — and then can’t find any of it at the callback three weeks later. The work isn’t the problem; the scatter is. A character deserves one place where the words, the face and the world all live together.
The builder is deliberately a process rather than a form, because "fill in the Backstory field" produces different work than "what happened to them before page one?". One question at a time, in rehearsal-room language, every dimension skippable — because a character you know everything about on day one is usually a character you invented instead of found. Come back and deepen any section as the work develops.
The visual half matters as much: a portrait — the one face that is them, uploaded or found in a built-in photo search — and a mood board for everything around them: rooms, weather, textures, clothes. And when the character comes from one of your scripts, the profile links to the same parsed character you rehearse, so "Rehearse as them" is one tap from the page where all their work lives.
